Galaxy S25 One UI 9 Stable Update Starts Rolling Out in Korea

Samsung closed the Galaxy S25 beta and pushed Android 17 to South Korea first. Owners elsewhere have no confirmed date.

Samsung started rolling out the Galaxy S25 One UI 9 stable update in South Korea on September 28, 2026. The Android 17 build reached beta testers on the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra first, according to SamMobile. Samsung has not announced timing for any other country.

What Happened and Why It Matters

Samsung ended the One UI 9 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series and replaced it with a finished build. SamMobile reports the release carries firmware version S93xNKSUCDZIF. The "x" stands for the model digit, so the same build covers all three phones.

Android Authority reports that the rollout goes beyond testers. Korean owners coming straight from One UI 8.5 also see the update, as a much larger full package. Android Authority adds that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are getting stable One UI 9 in Korea too.

The Galaxy S25 becomes the second Galaxy S line on stable One UI 9, after the Galaxy S26. That matters because Samsung's rollout has moved slowly outside Korea this cycle. Google shipped Android 17 to Pixel phones back in June, as PhoneArena noted.

How One UI 9 Reached the Galaxy S25

One UI 9 debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8. Samsung then began the wider rollout on September 16 with the Galaxy S26 series in Korea, per Samsung Newsroom.

The Galaxy S25 got its third beta on September 17. SammyGuru.com reported that build ZZIC fixed bugs in the notification panel and the camera app. That small changelog hinted the stable release was close.

Samsung's dates have shifted along the way. Samsung Thailand first listed September 21 for the Galaxy S26 and September 28 for the Galaxy S25 and Z7 foldables. Android Central reported that Samsung later replaced those dates with a general "within September" window in Thailand.

The Galaxy S26 then reached T-Mobile customers in the US on September 23, according to SammyGuru.com's rollout tracker. Most other markets are waiting on the S26 too. So what does that pattern mean for your S25?

Key Details of the Galaxy S25 One UI 9 Build

Samsung has not published an official changelog page for these builds. Android Authority says Samsung's Korean software update pages had not been updated when it reported. The details below come from firmware screenshots and outlet reports.

The size gap has a simple cause. Beta testers already run most of One UI 9, so they only need a small package to reach the stable branch. Everyone else downloads the whole Android 17 upgrade.

Android Authority reports the update screens list the September 2026 security patch. Sammy Fans reports that the Galaxy Z TriFold is receiving stable One UI 9 in Korea as well.

What One UI 9 Brings to Your Galaxy S25

Samsung's September 16 announcement lists the headline One UI 9 features. Most depend on a Samsung account, and Samsung warns availability varies by country, language and device.

  • My FanCam tracks a chosen person in a recorded video and reframes the clip to keep them centered.
  • Now Brief gains editable cards for health, weather and video.
  • Warranty and Care moves coverage checks, diagnostics, repair estimates and Samsung Care+ into Settings.
  • Now Nudge offers context-aware suggestions, such as saving a location shared in a chat.
  • Interpreter adds a Thread View for following translated conversations.
  • Security Brief and Privacy Alerts flag malware, risky permissions and background access attempts.
  • Scam Detection expands to Japan, Canada and India.

One detail deserves a closer look. Samsung's footnote for Privacy Alerts names the "Galaxy S25" and "S25 FE." It does not name the S25+, S25 Ultra or S25 Edge individually. Samsung has not clarified whether that reflects shorthand or a real limit.

Our One UI 9 features and rollout guide covers each feature in more depth.

What's Confirmed and What's Still Unclear

What It Means: Korea goes first for most major One UI releases. Expect other regions to follow in waves.

Confirmed: The firmware build, security patch and download sizes appear in screenshots reported by Android Authority and SamMobile.
Still Unclear: Samsung has not issued a press release or updated its Korean changelog pages for the S25 build.
What It Means: Treat the reported sizes as close estimates. Your phone's update screen shows the exact figure.

Still Unclear: Outlets have not confirmed whether non-beta S25 FE owners receive the update on day one.
What It Means: FE and Edge owners in Korea should check manually over the next few days.

Confirmed: SamMobile expects other regions to get the S25 update later this week or next week.

What It Means: Plan around a range of dates. Do not count on a specific day.

What This Means for You

Are you enrolled in the One UI 9 beta? Open Settings → Software update → Download and install. The stable build should appear as a small package that ends your beta enrollment.

Outside Korea, your Galaxy S25 has nothing to download for now. Samsung's staged rollouts also vary by carrier, so an unlocked phone may update before a carrier model.

PRO TIP: Back up your phone with Samsung Cloud or Smart Switch before a major Android upgrade. Keep at least 5GB free, since the full package weighs close to 4GB.

What started as troubleshooting for friends and family turned into a habit of writing it all down, then into full guides covering everything from first-boot setup to the quirks of each new Galaxy flagship. At SamsVerge, Montel Anthony covers How-To guides, breaking Samsung news, troubleshooting walkthroughs, and the tips power users rely on — always tested on real devices, not written from a spec sheet. The goal is simple: cut through the jargon and give Galaxy owners answers they can actually use, whether they're setting up a brand-new phone or trying to squeeze another year out of an older one. When a new One UI update drops or a Galaxy device launches, Sam's Guru is usually already elbow-deep in the settings menu, finding out what changed before writing about it.
